Operating since the early ‘90s, offering around 50 properties. The brochure/web site include intriguing information, ranging from where Pavarotti buys his favourite olive oil to where to locate local wine is stored in 2,500-year-old Etruscan fridges. The brochure also includes client comments. The company has an office in Italy so a local contact is on hand if you have any queries.

Where

Tuscany and Umbria. Also an apartment in Rome.

Style

Renovated rustic properties for the most part (farmhouses, villas and apartments), sleeping from 2 to 16. Most are in the hills round Perugia and most have a pool.

Season

Around half the properties are available year round. Electricity and gas are included in the price but not the cost of heating in the cooler months.

Facilities

One cot can be provided free of charge on request at all houses and in most cases a high chair too. On odd occasions may need to rent these items in which case there will be a charge. Babysitting is available on request at those properties where it is mentioned in the brochure/ on the web site. However if asked, will always help to try and find a solution at the other houses too, though English speaking may not be possible.

Extras

A few properties offer a welcome hamper or provide some home produced treats. Maid service ranges from once a week to daily. Some properties offer a cooking service and additional domestic help on request.

Sample Price

A property for 12 in peak season is £2,775, very reasonable compared to some operators. There is also a 5% discount for clients booking again.
