Started in 1970 with just 100 properties, carries out annual inspections of all currently offered and priding itself on its personal service. Full details of properties can be found in the brochure, not all owners wish their property to be included on the web site.

Location

Across Scotland down to the Borders, plus the odd property in Cumbria or Northumberland.
Style Varying from tiny cottages or even wooden teepees, up to approximately 20 classified as Premier Collection with facilities such as indoor heated pool and big enough to sleep more than 20. Not all have a tourist board rating but where given these range from two to five stars.

Linen

Provided at some properties or may be available for hire at an extra charge.

Heating

Not generally included in the price. Only around half the properties are available for winter lets (and it is noted that occasionally weather conditions may make access difficult).

Facilities

Cots are available at around 50% of properties, generally free. Cot linen is not normally provided. High chairs are available at fewer, details in the brochure. At a few properties owners can arrange babysitting. The brochure also includes three resorts offering a programme of activities for 5-11 year-olds.

Short Breaks

Available as last minute bookings only in mid and low season.

Sample Price

A Premier Collection property in Argyll sleeping seven or eight plus a baby, an new, architect designed property, would cost £700 per week in late May, early June. A croft cottage in the Highlands sleeping 4 plus a baby costs £290 per week in May.
