Newest have been Wildflower Hall in Nepal, Amarvilas at Agra, The Oberoi Mauritius and Sahl Hasheesh on the Red Sea in Egypt Vanya Vilas on a tiger reserve in Rajasthan and Udai Vilas overlooking Lake Potichola in Udaipur.
Style
Particularly at the newer properties, tending to low key elegance, although older ones include some tower blocks. Others, such as The Cecil at Shimla are renovations of colonial buildings. Five are members of the Leading Hotels of the World and eight members of Leading Small Hotels of the World.
Child Facilities
The hotels will cater to more or less any request on an individual basis and all hotels take children and can arrange babysitting, children's activities, children's food etc, even where there are no specific facilities in place. Outings can be arranged for example in Cairo camel and horse-riding, plus a walk to the pyramids and sphinx, plus tennis and swimming. Most Oberois are reported business hotels but at the leisure properties they do offer some facilities for children. The Oberois on Bali and Lombok are particularly highlighted but other options might be Wildflower Hall in the Himalayas, (once a country villa owned for example by viceroys of India), In general the coffee shops offer the most suitable food for children but they are also welcome in the restaurants. Cots and high chairs can be provided, along with other items on request, such as a kettle, or the butler can warm food and milk in the pantry.

Child Prices
Vary but for example children to eight years might stay free when sharing a parents room, possibly up to 10 years. In some cases this is only available for one child and two would require a separate room.
