Style

Luxury/five-star except the Kowloon Hotel which is four-star, several properties are members of the Leading Hotels of the World group. The Peninsula Hong Kong is the flagship - Hong Kong's oldest hotel and regularly featuring in round-ups of the world's best hotels.

Child Facilities

The group reports that families form a growing market for the group so has introduced a range of facilities to help them. Cots and extra beds are free for under 12s sharing with parents and these are made up with colourful sheets, duvet and pillow covers. Baby baskets include a baby bath towel, baby face cloth and a soft toy. There are a range of bathrobes in appropriate sizes for children between 2 and 13 years, along with children's slippers. A children's Amenities Folder include a children's room service menu, list of children's games available, list of children's DVDs (there is a library of around 25 available) and a box of coloured crayons. Babysitting can be arranged with prior notice. In Hong Kong prices are HK$80 per hour minimum four hours and maximum of two children. There is an additional charge of HK$160 per hour after midnight and HK$60 for transport. Children receive a fruit juice on arrival and there is a children's menu at the more informal eating place/coffee shop of the hotel. In addition in Hong Kong swimming classes for children costing HK$600 per hour can be arranged with a day's notice. At Bangkok cots and extra beds are free for under 12s, a pack for under 3s includes a baby hand towel, baby bath toy, Johnson & Johnson soap, talc, oil, and shampoo, Pampers nappies and baby wipes. There are also children's bathrobes and slippers. Babysitting can be arranged, high chairs, bottle warmer, steriliser, and baby bath tub are all available on request. Children's menus are available except at the Jesters Restaurant and lounge. Playstation and children's LCD, DVD and VCD movies are available on request. At Manila there are again free cots or beds for
under 12s sharing, a kids pack with crayons, pencils, stickers, colouring and notebook, and a kids cap. Babysitting can be arranged and a children's menu is being developed. At Beijing cots and extra beds are available free for under 12s, there is a baby basket similar to the one in Bangkok, there are one size children's bathrobes, plastic baby bath tubs on request and babysitting on request. A children's menu is available at the Jing restaurant and on rooms service. At the Kowloon hotel babysitting can be arrange.

Sample Price

At the Peninsula Hong Kong, a junior suite suitable for one extra bed HK$5,600 + 10% service charge and 3% government tax per night. A Deluxe suite suitable for two extra beds in the living room HK7,500 plus tax and service. Two connecting rooms start from HK$3,400 + tax and service.

Child Prices

Under 12s share free at the Peninsula Hong Kong, The Peninsula Bangkok, The Peninsula Manila and The Palace Hotel, Beijing but not at the Kowloon Hotel, Hong Kong, where only under 2s share free.
