A company founded in 1983, and now part of the Holiday Cottages Group - part of Cendant - and reported the UK's largest provider of holiday accommodation in France (4,000 properties in a very fat tome of a brochure - 95% of them also on the internet site). Bookings are direct with the owners. This means rents are cheaper than alternatives though not inspected so quality is variable. The organisation can also arrange discount Channel crossings with all operators and overnight hotels.

Pretty much every department, the offer divided into North East, Normandy, Brittany, Loire & Vendee, Poitou-Charentes, Dordogne, Lot & Limousin, Aquitaine, Midi-Pyrenees, Central & Eastern, Languedoc-Roussillon and the Cote d'Azur & Provence.

Style

Including cottages, farmhouses, villas with pools, comfortable chateaux and apartments. Most owners are British and all speak English so booking is easy for English speakers.

At least half are available year-round but you should double check on heating arrangements.

Some properties provide cots and high chairs, but this is up to the owners so should not be counted on. If not stated in the advertisement, clients are advised to enquire direct with the owners.
