The renamed French Collection, Brittany Ferries' deal direct programme of privately-owned properties which are booked direct (all owners are English speaking) and reported therefore cheaper than average. There are reduced fares to bookers on Brittany Ferries and with Eurotunnel. Some properties offer b&b.

Alsace Lorraine, Aquitaine, Auvergne, Brittany, Burgundy, Ile de France, Languedoc Roussillon, Limousin, Loire Valley and Western Loire, Midi Pyrenees, Nord Picardy, Normandy, Poitou Charentes, Provence/Cote d'Azur, Rhone Alps.

Style

From mobile homes and cottages to chateaux and including traditional farms 17th century town houses, converted barns and forges, canal boats and seaside apartments. Largely British-owned, they will tend to be equipped in British style. Around 20% offer a pool.

Season

Year-round at around a quarter of the properties.

Facilities

Nothing is listed for children but around 10% of properties can offer a cot. Those offering a housekeeper might also be able to arrange babysitting.

Extras

Around 10% of properties can provide a cook and housekeeper.
