Around 500 privately French-owned properties, offered by a French agency, which does however produce an English language brochure.

Where

Normandy, Brittany, Aquitaine, Mid-Pyrenees, Languedoc-Rousillon, Provence, Cote Varoise and Cote d'Azur, Corsica and Ile de France, plus a handful in the Auvergne, Val de Loire and Poitou. (There are also some beyond France for example in Ibiza and Guadeloupe.)

Style

They seem to split around 50/50 between modern build and old-fashioned. They are certainly authentically French, though specific style depends on the local and owners preferences and include some independent options as well as units or apartments in a building where others may also be renting. Rentals with private swimming pools also come with a washing machine and dishwasher. Linen is available for an extra charge. Pets are accepted at some properties. A high proportion appear to sleep large numbers but beware of calculations as these can be overly generous.

Season

Generally year-round, though you should check on heating availability.

Facilities

A cot should be available at around half the properties but this will be Continental style.

Extras

None mentioned.

Sample Price

A property at Gordes in Provence sleeping up to six would be E2,082 per week in high season.
