Founded in '83 making it one of the oldest established safari operators in the UK, offering purely tailormade options. Occasionally take families with children under 6, if the children are well travelled, but tend to recommend leaving it until the children are at least over that age.

Recommendations

Heritage camps in Kenya because they offer the Adventurers Club for children, although point out that the camps would be fine for first-time visitors but less so for those who are looking for something less conventional. In Tanzania would recommend a private trip with your own vehicle to avoid the potential problem of disturbing other travellers and make it easier to work to your own timetable.

Sample Price

A safari over Christmas for two adults and a 9-year-old staying for a night in Nairobi, two at Samburu and three Masai Mara, in Heritage lodges, followed by eight on the beach cost around £8,200 in total.
A tailormade trip to Tanzania with eight nights visiting the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti, followed by four or five nights on Zanzibar would be around £3,000 per person with a small discount possible for children.
