Specialists in luxury diving holidays around the world, priding themselves on the in-depth knowledge of each location that offer and the service provided to 15 ‘handpicked' dive destinations. Offers modular or tailor-made land packages to complement the diving. Some destinations are only liveaboard (feels there is no decent land-based diving in Thailand for example). Comments that the best diving destinations are the best because very remote and not yet spoilt - so don't recommend them for families.

Where

From Micronesia to S E Asia to Central America: Papua New Guinea, Palau, Truk Yap, Bikini Atoll, Tahiti, Galapagos, Thailand & Burma, Malaysia, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Turks & Caicos Islands, Belize, Honduras, Saba and Cayman Islands.

Recommendations

For children who have learnt to dive most offer child-friendly hotels, a lot with babysitting facilities and nearby attractions to look at when not diving. Belize potentially interesting because there are ancient ruins and rain forest to look at. The Cayman Islands are good with for example a turtle farm and tourist style attractions, but meals for example are extremely expensive and taking children to places of interest becomes very expensive. Feels the resorts in Malaysia are too self-contained to offer much of interest. Papua New Guinea has great stuff for kids but fantastic bird life and great waterfalls and rain forest. If you go up into the Highlands for a few days there are also wonderful cultural encounters with people like the Mud Men - fascinating for children. The Galapagos are only really for experienced divers but land tours would be fascinating for children - though these are really best taken on a non-diving holiday.

Sample Price

To Belize at Lighthouse Reef Resort (taking just 22 people) prices start from £1,750 including flights, accommodation and diving. There is a discount of around £240 for non-divers, including non-diving children. In Papua New Guinea Malagan Beach Resort where there is plenty of WW11 stuff, prices are from £1,455 per person.
