Has seen marked growth in the programme which now has its own dedicated brochure. At Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt children can enrol on dive courses from 10 years. For younger children, although there is childcare from 4 months, up to 2 years parents are required to be responsible for the children over the lunch break, so it would difficult to combine that with diving as dive trips are full day excursions. This means that with very young children parents couldn't dive together but they could dive on different days of the week.

Recommendations

Dedicated childcare facilities are available at Porto Heli in Greece caters to children from 4 months to 13 years (though dive sites are limited so the programme includes three days of diving and four of surf/sail/cycle to provide a full week of activities). Bitez offers care from 4 months to 5 years; Grenada from 5 to13 years. PADI dive courses from 10 years are available at some other dive centres, subject to local laws.

Sample Price

In late July August £755 per adult at Porto Heli. There is a child discount of 20% for under 14s, prices including flights and flexible half board. There is a reduction of £135 per week for adults who don't want to participate in any of the activities.
