Launching exclusive ‘family learn to dive' offers in August and October on the basis that they Allow families to share experiences in a non competitive environment, including, if fit enough, grandparents as well.

Where

Egypt and the Red Sea, Tanzania and Kenya, Gozo, Jordan, Seychelles, Maldives, Cayman Islands and Thailand.

Recommendations

The Red Sea and particularly Sharm El Sheikh with beachfront hotels offering childcare (babysitting and animation teams), or older children could go out on the boat with the parents and snorkel under supervision while parents dive. However, cautions against going in summer as too hot. Also possibly also Gozo because shore diving and with accommodation all within five minutes' walk of the dive centre. Although not part of the family programme, an alternative is the Seychelles where the better hotels typically offer childcare facilities.

Sample Price

Holidays are arranged at family friendly hotels close to the chosen dive centre and start from only £369 per person in a three-star hotel up to £791 in a five-star hotel for 7-nights departing during August and October. The price includes return flights from Gatwick, all b&b accommodation and including transfers, UK taxes and fuel surcharges. Course fees vary slightly depending on the centre selected but the price range is £170 - £224 (after discount) per person for a 4-day course including all tuition and hire of diving equipment.
There is a 10% discount on the cost of PADI Open Water Diver course fees for families of three or more learning together during August and October school holidays.
