Holidays by Destination Australasia Australia Tour Operators

Until recently most five-star properties in Australia have been either for business visitors, or in tropical Queensland. However, things are changing with a growing number of “boutique” hotels and more characterful options. However, not all operators are up to speed on attitudes to children at these or other specific hotels.

Growing in popularity are purpose-built self-catering properties, both in the cities and resorts, providing more personal space than hotel accommodation, and the chance to economise by organising your own food.

Flag is the country's biggest hotel/motel chain with six standards of property (not all operators offer all of them), some with restaurants, the more central ones more expensive. They take two children in existing bedding (though this can be cramped). Pre-paid passes are widely sold but will tie you down.
