Style
Started in 1982, with two Beano weeks, and four weekends a year for groups of 15-plus, everyone cycling at their own pace on quiet country lanes, around 30 to 40 miles per day with options for shortcuts and additions. There is good vegetarian food (mainly organic) and evenings are spent on volleyball or other games or chatting over wine. The organisers cycle as back-ups and guides.
Accommodation
Varies from a three-star guesthouse to a medieval manor.
Age Accepted
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult, have good road sense and be able to cycle 30 miles per day.
Bikes
Hybrids can be rented for £75 per week on some tours. Contact them first for availability. Detailed maps, repair kit and area information provided.
