Style

Gentle cycling on routes designed to offer a mix of rural peace, culture and history and traffic-free routes. All tours include route directions, an OS map and tour brochure outlining what there is to see and do. Self guided day trips, short breaks and longer tours of 20 miles per day with options for more, and with days out of the saddle. Bespoke tours as requested. Some routes are particularly suited to children as virtually traffic free but passing very suitable attractions including Thorpe Park, outdoor swimming pools, Legoland and castles.

Accommodation

Either the very best hotels in town (4/5 star) with dinner included (Finest Tours) or bed and breakfast in private houses, small hotels and inns (rustic rather than smoky); chosen for quality and ‘the sort of overnights we as a family would be happy to stay in', handpicked for character, feel and location. Always try to get the best deal for families on rooms such as connecting rooms or additional beds. All rooms have private bathroom.

Age accepted

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult and have good road sense. 8 is minimum age for cycling independently. Children not allowed on two named tours. Younger children can be catered for on a tag along and the very small in baby seats.

Bikes

Included in the cost, hybrid with 21 gears plus panniers, water bottle holders, puncture repair kit, lock and map holder. Tag alongs for under 8s and baby seats for the youngest.

Where

The Thames from source to sea; Chilterns, Cotswolds and seaside routes in Kent. All routes are circular from London, Windsor, Pangbourne, Oxford, Canterbury and Dover.

Price

A fortnightly tour in the summer on a B&B basis, for two adults and two children, is £2,952. for a B&B tour. Helmets for adults and children are not included in the price.
