Where

Basically all the mainland but notably Andalucia, the Mediterranean coast, northern Spain (Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, and Pyrenees), plus all areas of Portugal, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Fuerteventura and La Gomera.

Style

One of the widest selections of properties. In the northern Spain programme accommodation includes typical rural and villages houses both in the mountains and nearer the coast. The rest of the programme includes both very traditional properties, along with some modernised to different degrees, plus modern international style options, apartments which are generally in traditional buildings. Also available are Spanish villas, usually in Spanish holiday areas and designed for local requirements and climate, plus a few cortijos and fincas - large country houses, usually old manor or farmhouses, built in the local style and usually in attractive rural locations. Around half of properties (mainly Mediterrean coastal areas and Andalucia) have a private or shared pool. Others may have free access to a hotel swimming pool.

Season

Canaries year-round, northern Spain mid April to mid October, southern Spain almost year-round. Heating, available in around half the properties, is not included and must be requested in advance and paid for locally.

Facilities

Cots are available at around 90% of properties, and must be booked in advance and paid for locally. High chairs may be available on request (some areas don't use them at all it is reported.)

Extras

Extra maid service may be available around a quarter of properties but must be arranged in advance and paid for locally.

A rural property with pool and two bedrooms sleeping four is from £495, averaging £850 per week in high season, accommodation only. Flights and car hire can also be arranged.
