The Algarve (Carvoeiro and surrounding area).
Style
Detached villas with private pool and barbecue, all privately owned and comfortably furnished according to the owners' personal taste. Linen and towels provided. Also some townhouse style apartments on small developments, normally with communal pools and other on-site facilities.
Season
March to November. Pool heating may be available at a cost of around £100 per week. Some villas have heating, also payable extra. A number have wood burning stoves.
Facilities
Cots and high chairs can be arranged at almost all properties suitable for children (a handful are not recommended). All villas have a washing machine for the use of the maid only, though most will also handle private laundry for a fee.
Extras
Maid service is five days a week at around 75% of properties.
Sample Price
For a villa with two bedrooms sleeping four, in high season £1,005 for accommodation and car hire. Flights are extra.
