Operates three small camps in the Okavango Delta and Kwando regions of Botswana and one near Livingstone, Zambia and Victoria Falls. The Kwando concession is one of Africa's largest privately-run wildlife area of 2,300sq km of wetlands, riverine forests, open flood plains, grasslands, and woodlands, noted for its elephant and buffalo. Kwara camp is in a 1,750 square km private concession adjoining the Moremi game reserve.

For Children

All the camps accept families with children over 8 years, over 12s without restriction, 8-12s either in a private vehicle or on a special family safari. Under 8s are accepted only in the green season (1 Nov - 30 June) and again with some restrictions.
Kwando Safaris offers a dedicated specialist guide, Lisa Reed. Initial contact with the children begins six weeks prior to travel when they will receive a parcel from Botswana containing information relating to the safari holiday activity programme. This includes information on the dangers and etiquette of a safari, conservation and environmental issues. Once in camp, Lisa organises daily activities including an adapted safari itinerary, game activities and leisure activities. These include tracking skills - learning to identify and read the tracks in the sand; survival workshop - practical uses of flora and fauna, what to eat, what not to eat, how to make rope, how to find water; African art - how to use natural things to make cards and gifts; and medicine in the bush - a look at common trees and plants and how they are used by the local people for traditional healing. All activities are geared to the various age groups.
One visitor reports that, although not the best game-viewing in Africa, there is plenty to keep you occupied, friendly staff, and it's very comfortable, if expensive.

US$415 per person per night low season sharing, including light aircraft transfers in Botswana. High season US$575 per person. For the services of Lisa Reed and private vehicle US$250 per day. Scheduled flights from Johannesburg to Botswana US$397 per person.
