Recommendations

Cheli and Peacock in Kenya where there is a complimentary baby-sitting service in the evenings at all camps; safari cots for children and extra beds available in all tents for children sharing with parents. There are guided educational walks with a member of the Maasai tribe, good fun for children, who learn about foot prints, animal droppings. They also visit to a Maasai manyatta (village). There are board games in all camps.

At Tortilis (Amboseli National Park & at Elsa's Kopje (Meru National Park), there are early dinners for children and a special children's menu. In the Cheli & Peacock Mara Camp & at Laikipia Tented Camp, meals can be organised early for children or they can eat with their parents. There is a swimming pool at Tortilis & Elsa's Kopje. Elsa's Kopje has hand-held radios which parents can use to call for room service from their individual cottages.

Also recommends Governor's Camps which do not have any age restrictions on children staying and have a homely, friendly atmosphere. Governors' Camps also have a very high staff retention rate. A lot of their staff have been with Governors' for up to 20 years. As a result there is a real welcoming, family atmosphere. Under 2s stay free and under 12s at child rate.
