In two brochures of Santa breaks offers Lapland day trips plus longer stays. Having been operating since the early ‘80s, can offer places away from the more commercialised Santas, deeper into the real Lapland.
Reports that while day trips are the most popular choice, and seven hours is enough time to fit in all the essentials, an overnight gives a better feel for the place.
Seven-day activity holidays get a separate brochure with breaks including the option of supervised snow competitions for under 11s with snowshoe running, kick sled and mini skidoo races, plus tug of war contests at £30 for 90 minutes. Older children can try ice fishing with sleds and toboggans. There are also Reindeer Excursions and Safari, ranging from one hour to 24 hours (over-nighting in a forest cabin, with sleigh ride to reindeer farm etc).

Prices

Day trips are from £399 per adult and £379 for 4- 11 years include return flight, transfers, loan of cold weather gear, lunch, and an individual family visit to Santa. Also included is a gift for under 11s, an Arctic Circle crossing certificate, plus husky and snowmobile licences.Possibly better value for money though would be the slightly more expensive longer stays, for example, two to four-day trips to Olos in the heart of Finnish Lapland, where winter activities are combined with a family meeting with Santa, plus entertainment, special effects, and illusions like a levitating elf.
