If you pay by credit card this gives free personal accident cover and the credit card company is jointly liable if the agreed goods or services, costing at least £100, are not supplied. Charge cards like American Express are not bound by the same rules. Nor will it cover members of the client's family - only the cardholder.
If you pay by gold card you will probably get free travel insurance for yourself, your spouse and children, but should check this with your provider.
