Practicalities Getting Organised Insurance If you are going to be Making a Claim 

To rehearse the usual advice, take a copy of the policy with you so you know how to claim if you need to. Keep all paperwork and note all phone calls. Keep a separate note of the emergency number and report to the police in 24 hours. Insurance companies are in the business of making money and if they can find a reason to keep theirs, they may well do so if you didn't abide by their rules.
