Holidays by Destination North America USA Florida Getting Around

Given distances, a car can be vital. With the rental desk queues at the airports you might do better to take shuttle bus or taxi to your hotel and collect the car next day. However, in Orlando you could save on hire, using shuttle buses and theme park services.
Specialist car hire firms can pre-book cars for collection or delivery at your convenience. This is one of the cheapest places in the US to rent, especially if you compare prices locally. However, if on a fly drive rental companies are legally obliged to provide free child seats.
The Florida Fun Train between Hollywood, Greater Fort Lauderdale and Kissimmee offers live entertainment, a video arcade, children's play area and meals. Offpeak plane travel costs not much more than bus or train.
