There is more to Florida than meets the eye in the average holiday brochure. Behind the plastic facade there is history and even wilderness, despite the 25 million visitors a year to Orlando adding to the pressures on the fourth most populous part of the US.It is also worth bearing in mind that the obvious option with kids may not be the ideal family holiday. Much of Orlando (barring the Magic Kingdom) is more for the child in adults than for real children. Many rides for example are likely to frighten younger ones.
