Holidays by Destination Europe Sweden Stockholm

Stockholm, founded in 1252 between the Baltic Sea and Lake M?laren, is an attractive place. Spread over 14 islands it offers an old centre, 19th century residential areas, and cleancut Nordic design, all woven around the attractive expanses of water.

The quality of the public arenas is where the city really excels - in the stylishness and intelligence of establishments like its museums; the helfulness of people you meet - even bus drivers (all of them, like everyone else, speak English); and in the cleanliness and attractiveness of the environment. The tourist office even reports that the water surrounding the city is so clean you can brush your teeth in it.

This is all relaxing in its own right but is especially so for parents as facilities for children are factored in to the organisation of almost everywhere you might want to go.
