Style
‘Independent hotels selected for character and charm', generally three and four-star. All of the 250-odd are family-run but symbols in the guide do not indicate whether child-friendly or not and the main focus is on independent travellers who are looking for places with character.
Child Facilities
Most of the hotels have cots and high chairs but beyond that all have their own policy. A handful can offer babysitting or baby listening services. The majority have family rooms and may be able to provide children's meals out of hours. Those unable to accept children, for example because furnished with antiques, indicate this in the directory.
