What to Do and Where to Go
When to Go

Holidays by Destination Europe Czech Republic When to Go

Since opening up to the West, for most of the year the centre of Prague is close to over-run with tourists. July and September are particularly bad so (August slightly less so), although the weather will generally be warm, are worth avoiding. Winters can be bitterly cold but if frosty or snowy, terribly romantic - fine for well wrapped up, slightly older children but not really little ones, and not much good for venturing out into the country.

The best tradeoff between crowds and weather is probably May and June or September, when it should be mild and with any luck will not rain miserably - though this is not to be ruled out.
