Avoid poisonwood trees and water dripping off them. Rangers can point them out.

In the wild there are poisonous snakes but these are not aggressive. You could take a snakebite kit, available in camping shops.

There was in 1998 a meningitis scare but this does not appear to have materialised.

Take care in the sun which on the young can cause serious burns in just a few minutes.
