Holidays by Destination Europe France Loire Getting There

A ferry and drive is the most popular option. Note that although ferries to Normandy may be more convenient from your starting point in the UK, the drive in France is more time-consuming, if also more interesting. This is because, although shorter as the crow flies, there are few dual carriageways along the route.

Futuroscope, the French science-themed park, is around an hour's drive north of the area.

By train Tours for example is just an hour from Paris by TGV. Given that public transport is distinctly limited you may then want to hire a car. There are numerous car hire companies close to the train station including

Avis

Or book through the UK offices [Getting There - Car - Child Car Seat Hire for phone numbers].

By air from the end of March 2002 Buzz will be flying daily from Stansted to Tours. There is a package deal on flights and car hire with Budget car hire at the airport.
