Specialists in self-drive Land Rover safari holidays in Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, either independently or with a guide. Centres are in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Harare, Victoria Falls, Windhoek, and Maun. The camping is reported to go down well with children and is in camps which are fenced so protected from animals, except in Botswana. There are two roof tents two deep freezers and all bedding, towels and kitchen equipment. Food can be bought in town supermarkets or the local African markets.

Recommendations

A very popular guided tour is in Botswana to the Moremi game reserve, part of the Okavango Delta where you are - the operator says - guaranateed to see lots of animals and the guide makes you feel a little more secure, before moving on to the Victoria Falls where older children can go white water rafting and bungee jumping. Also offers safaris in saloons to child-friendly lodges, such as Tshukudu in South Africa.
