Holidays on the southern coast of Crete in remote countryside. The idea is to offer the chance ‘to discover new mind & body enhancing skills as well as expanding one's existing yoga practice'. On each session, alongside Astanga Yoga (combining elements of energetic workout and the inner aspects of yoga practice), is a blend of courses such as Tai Chi, Pilates, several forms of Massage, Alexander Technique, Swimming, Adventure & History Walks, Art and Dance. In fact you don't even have to come to do Yoga. The day starts at sunrise for those who wish, but the idea is to join in only what suits. Other activities include salsa, swimming, photography, Indian head massage, voiceworks, reflexology, nutrition, and more. Accommodation is in two buildings, the centre itself where courses are held and meals provided, either in terrace or balcony rooms, and other rooms at a taverna a short walk up the hill with views over the bay and coast. Meals are vegetarian and there is a fridge on the terrace where food can be stored. Access is now allowed to the kitchen for safety reasons.

For Families

Reports that numerous children come each year and it works well, as long as they're happy with just beach and countryside, plus a mini market for ice creams etc. Cots are available and there is a safe and sheltered beach, though the surrounding land is quite rocky with cliffs, so young children would need supervision. Can arrange childcare to cover morning classes, but for activities at other times of day, parents would have to cover for each other. Children don't normally take clases but if older children wanted to take part in course and the teacher were agreeable, that would be possible, the child then paying closer to full price.

In August from £515 to £695 in a twin, £625 in a triple. Under 5s stay free, 5-15 years pay a proportion of the cost, depending how many adults are paying full price - so 50% discount for one to two children sharing with two adults, 35% for one child sharing with one adult.
