The first tour for families is a nine-night tour over Easter 2001 to Egypt. Hi9ghlights include the pyramids and sphinx at Giza, the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Ramses III on the West Bank of the Nile. Families also visit the underground chambers of the royal pyramid at Saqqara and learn about every day life in ancient Egypt at the Pharaonic Village. In Luxor they see how to make a mummy at the Museum of Mummification, and there's an evening visit to the Light and Sound show at the Karnak temple.
Accommodation is in five-star hotels in Cairo and Luxor and is accompanied by Delia Pemberton, a British Museum lecturer and author on Ancient Egypt.
There is an optional extension of four or seven nights at the beech resort of Hurghada on the Red Sea.

Sample Price

£1,590 for adults, £1,295 for 12-16s, £825 for under 12s. This includes scheduled flights, half board accommodation and all visits and activities.
