As well as standard flotilla holidays offers flotilla learn to sail trips with yachts sleeping up to four in two double cabins or up to six in three double cabins. Snacks, refreshments and a light lunch are provided while under way.

What Taught

Beginners are taken to competent crew standard after one week, day skipper after two. Those with dinghy sailing or motoryacht experience should get to day skipper after one week and could then take a yacht with the flotilla for the second week with a non-tidal Mediterranean cruising certificate.

What Equipment

All charter yachts have life jackets on board and a dinghy, with an outboard engine provided as an optional extra. Some fleets have windsurfers at an extra cost.

For Children

It is pointed out that it is real fun for families to learn to sail together, though the holiday is best suited for children of 10-plus. Families with young children are not mixed with others. For those with younger children the suggestion is that if the parents are beginners they should spend the first week based ashore while each parent does a three-day course.
There is no childcare provided.

Based ashore self-catering not far from the flotilla base.
