An operator run and owned by dedicated conservationists and guides, which specialises in catering for families and children (in the UK as well, see Activity Holidays) with experience in the field since the early ‘80s. Through the Wilderness Trust the company supports strategic conservation causes, including community support.
The aim is to take clients away from normal tourist routes with camps of no more than 10 rooms with day and night game walks, game drives, bird watching, fishing canoeing, white water rafting, abseiling and more. As well as providing activities, the outings are designed to give a feel of the country and its culture - indeed they believe the way they operate allows guests to reconnect ‘with our primeval nature and spirit that often gets trapped in our busy everyday lives'.
Particularly useful is that the camps have a good malarial safety record, because regularly sprayed and, apparently, because removed from populated areas where malaria may occur. Some camps also have a Mossie magnet machine to further help minimise problems.
