You will of course need valid passports for everyone travelling, including infants, but note also that visas as required even at transit stops. Australia for example requires passengers in transit for longer than eight hours to have a visa.

If anyone in the group requires medication, take enough on board to last the journey and any delays. It is also advisable to take a certificate from your doctor verifying the need for the medication. Some customs and immigration officers can be very snotty about drugs of any kind.
