Any time of year is good for Amsterdam. However, if you are planning to spend time out and about it's worth bearing in mind that January and February are the coldest months with daily averages of 2ºc, September and October probably the wettest, and July and August the warmest with average temperatures of 17ºc. That said, even in the wet and cold there is an atmospheric appeal, especially after dark with glittering lights on house gables and bridges, and there are plenty of places to duck into if you want to warm up.
