The best weather in Germany - as in the UK - is April to October though nothing is entirely predictable.

In Bavaria broadly speaking the climate except for winter is mild. Temperatures in Munich range from an average 14 to 2ºc in January, rising to 12-24ºc in July and August (with the possibility of going from 10 to 30ºc in a single week). The part close to the mountains always has a chance of summer storms, but they do pass. When the warm Alpine Fohn blows the Alps can be seen from up to 60 miles away.
