Walt Disney Studios is next to Disneyland Resort Paris, but has its own entrance and tickets. Where the original park is designed for families with children between 3 and 9 years, the new one targets those with children up to 15. It is also designed to involve much more participation.
There are 10 attractions in four areas (the Florida equivalent opened with just five rides or shows.) At the main entrance Lights, Camera, Hollywood! - Studio One - is a covered version of Main Street USA with movie props, shops and restaurants and acts as host to 36 acts daily, including bands or street theatre.
Art of Disney Animation is a 30-minute show split into four parts, including a section where an animator explains the creation of a character and includes an interactive zone where visitors can try animation for themselves. Animagique is a show based on the best moments from Disney Classics. Flying Carpets over Agrabah is the ride for younger children, similar to Dumbo's flying.
The Production Courtyard includes Cinemagique a show based on an interactive journey through European and American cinema. The Studio Tram Tour takes guests on a behind the scenes studio tour with stops at props, artefacts and costuming plus the thrill Catastrophe Canyon with an earthquake, exploding oil tanker, flash floods and a firebreathing dragon. Walt Disney Television Studios, home of Disney Channel, France, broadcasts live from this area.
The Back Lot offers Armageddon, special effects show, which brings to life movie scenes with wind tunnel, explosions and fire. Rock 'N' Roller Coaster synchronises the movement to an Aerosmith soundtrack plus laser and light show. The 40-minute Stunt Show features cars, motorbikes and jet skis. |
