Food is not one of Africa's great attractions and especially with children you might like to take plenty of basic snacks to ensure that you have something acceptable to hand in moments of crisis.

and do not be fooled into thinking that four star hotels are any more reliable than street stalls. In general they should be but you are always reliant on absolutely everyone in the chain from the washing up staff up being entirely scrupulous about standards - which is unlikely.
