Cultural tours led by experts and introducing some for families.

Recommendations

The first tour for families was of nine nights over Easter 2001 to Egypt. Highlights included the pyramids and sphinx at Giza, the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Ramses III on the West Bank of the Nile. Families also visited the underground chambers of the royal pyramid at Saqqara and learnt about every day life in ancient Egypt at the Pharaonic Village. In Luxor they saw how to make a mummy at the Museum of Mummification, and there was an evening visit to the Light and Sound show at the Karnak temple.
Accommodation was in five-star hotels in Cairo and Luxor and the tour was accompanied by Delia Pemberton, a British Museum lecturer and author on Ancient Egypt.
There was an optional extension of four or seven nights at the beech resort of Hurghada on the Red Sea.

Sample Price

£1,590 for adults, £1,295 for 12-16s, £825 for under 12s. This includes scheduled flights, half board accommodation and all visits and activities.
