Describes itself as the world's largest sailing holiday specialist with 750 yachts in 35 bases in 19 countries round the world, started in 1974 as a UK based sailing school.

UK sailing schools [see Holiday Camps] plus resorts in Greece (Galini, Spartia, Vounaki, Leda, and Terra Mare) Turkey (Farmess, Yedi Tepe, Perili, Javelin and Marmaris) and Antigua (Colonna) with further Caribbean properties planned.

What Taught

Dinghy sailing and windsurfing plus water skiing and in some resorts scuba diving for children of 12+ (extra fee).

What Equipment

All dinghies and wind surfers provided free, plus life jackets.

For Children

Minnows (4 months to 2 years), one British qualified nanny per three children, seven days a week, the venue providing cots and high chairs, potties, baby baths and mats, plus sterilising equipment, but take your own feeding equipment. There are specially designated play areas, sand pits and children's pools.

Snappers (2-4 years) are offered activities including swimming, sand play, treasure hunts, painting and singing.

Sea Urchins (3-6 years), can try sailing or windsurfing, and there are treasure hunts, drawing, fancy dress, quiz competitions, supervised swimming, water games, picnics and other activities to encourage good fun on the water.

Gybers (8-12 years) get activities on and off the water throughout the day with a team of qualified activity leaders organising informal windsurfing and sailing and other activities including swimming, snorkelling, team games and outside trips.

The Beach Team (13-16 years), have more freedom and can join in activities and instruction sessions.

Hours are 9.30am-5pm six days a week. There is childcare in school holidays only at Spartia and Leda. All Sunsail Clubs have special children's windsurfers.

Accommodation

Clubs are all different, Perili more attractive, Vounaki purpose-built modern, but broadly offer twin/double rooms, with villas and apartments also available in Antigua. All clubs have air conditioned rooms.

Cost of Care

Mini Clubs £175 per week. Sanppers, Sea Urchins, Gybers and Beach Team free.

Sample Price

For a fortnight in peak season at a Mediterranean club in peak season adults would be around £1,205, children 2-12 £1015, under 2s 75 for two weeks, including flights and half board. Children to 7 years get free lunch. Under 2s sharing are £40 for one week £60 for two.

At some dates eg August, September and October, Antigua is actually less expensive.
