There is also a boat-building arm so you can expect boats in decent condition.

Pets except puppies, are accepted.

Currently operates 25 boats with from four to eight berths and welcome customers to view the boats before deciding whether to hire.

Where

Based at the northern edge of the Chiltern Hills on the Grand Union Canal. Cruises of two weeks include the Warwck ring or 10 days north Oxford and Ashby canals.

Purpose built in traditional wooden style but with plenty of windows.

Equipment

All sheets, duvets, blankets etc are provided. The boats are fitted with removable parasols in the forward cockpits. For wet weather all boats carry a set of waterproofs and an umbrella. Front open cockpits are designed to seat al the crew in comfort for outdoor meals and rear decks have seats for the helmsman. There are opening windows inside and full central heating.

All boats carry a 20-page entertainment manual on local facilities.

For children can provide cot sides fitted to a bunk, also useable as a playpen. Can also supply a four ft mattress to bo between berths to make a four ft berth for an extra child (for which there is no extra charge.

Safety

A life buoy is carried within reach of the helmsman and all carry a gas leak detector. All gas apliances are regularly inspected and gas boilers have external glues. All boats also have three fire extinguishers and a fire blanket plus a first aid box. All boats are fitted with non slip tread pads on the gunwales and handles on the front corner of the cabin roof.
