Whitbread Hotel Company is the UK's second largest hotel group operating more than 350 hotels with more planned.

Style

The two main brands are four and five-star Marriott of which there are currently around 59 plus 11 Courtyard by Marriott, and budget Travel Inns (see also). Marriott won the AA Hotel Group of the year award for 2001 and 2002.

Child Facilities

All hotels provide cots and bedding at no charge, high chairs and a children's menu in all restaurants. Play areas are provided in most hotels, particularly Marriott Country Club Hotels. Marriott St Pierre in Wales provides a creche with external registered childminders, at extra cost. Most hotels are buggy accessible though the Marriott St Pierre has no lifts so young families would be best suited to ground floor rooms or suites. Babysitting is available at most hotels with external registered childminders. Special breaks include one to Legoland when staying at the Slough/Windsor Marriott.
All hotels provide children's menus and breakfast is free for under fives, half adult price for 5-12 years.
Note that under 16s are not admitted to leisure clubs unless accompanied and supervised by an adult. Certain hotels have further restrictions.

Prices for leisure breaks depending partly on season range from £29 to £105 per person based on two adults sharing.

Child Prices

Children under 16 stay free when sharing a room with an adult, subject to availability of suitable rooms. All meals are charged as taken breakfast free for under 5s, half price for 5-12 years. Up to two children in a separate adjoining room receive a 50% discount off the adult twin rates ex breakfast.
