A chain of five-star luxury hotels, set up in 1996 by Rocco Forte after the Granada buyout of the Forte chain. The directors are Rocco Forte, his sister Olga Polizza and Richard Power, all former directors of Forte plc. WhereCurrently seven individual properties including Rome, Florence, Brussels, Edinburgh, Cardiff, St Petersburg and Manchester and looking at cities including Prague and Frankfurt plus perhaps Milan, Venice, Berlin, Madrid and Barcelona.
Child FacilitiesServices vary between hotels but all offer inter-connecting rooms, children's meals available either as part of the main menu or on request, babysitting services and cots for small children. Further, for example, The Lowry in Manchester offers additional beds, for children under 12, which can be put into the parents' room, free accommodation for under 12s, a children's TV channel, a selection of DVDs and player available at nominal cost.
Sample PriceStandard room rates for example for the Lowry and the Balmoral in winter are £150 a night. Child PricesDepend on the property but at some hotels there is free accommodation for under 12s sharing with their parents. |
