Part of the Meon group, one of the better geared up operators, offering Spain, Portugal, US and Bermuda, Tunisia, South Africa, and Dubai. Describes itself as very child friendly and with a majority of hotels child-friendly too.

Recommendations

The operator has recently decided to encourage more young players and has teamed up with the Golf Foundation to offer dedicated Junior Golf Clinics during school holidays. The weeks are aimed at beginners and improvers aged six to 11 years and take place at Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resort on the Algarve. The clinics include 16 hours' tuition, a parent/junior golf tournament, and entry to the hotel's Penguin Village, plus evening functions with parents. Also suggested are Vale do Lobo also on the Algarve and townhouses. Also La Manga in Spain, Quinta da Marinha near Lisbon on a golfing complex, or on Tenerife Las Adelsas (though close to the airport) or on the Costa del Sol El Paraiso, described as a good hotel with golf course.

Sample Price

During the Easter holidays a seven-day stay at the hotel would be from £749 per person based on two adults sharing and including return flights, car hire, b&b and two rounds of golf per adult. Children under 12 sharing with two adults pay £225 each, plus £240 if they participate in the golf clinic.
