Accommodation and StyleOffers pure horse hire service, or a trail accommodation network from the Welsh border to the coast with about 30 farms, inns and hotels which welcome passing riders and horses. A luggage delivery services is offered, and a helpline for any problems. Farms may not be licensed but beer and wine can often be delivered with the luggage or feed. There are village pubs and some larger establishments with en suite facilities, lounge etc. Some trails include the option of a pub stop but most overnight stops will also provide a packed lunch for the next day if requested the night before. Freerein can also cater to Duke of Edinburgh Award groups. Type of RidingTrails can be ridden without a guides, with a minimum of two riders for safety reasons, or with a guide/instructor. Onto the Trail courses are suitable for new, novice or rusty riders, designed to acquaint riders with the basics of horsemanship in the hills, on the principle that the best way to learn is to spend lots of time with a friendly horse, riding quietly in the company of a relaxed and informal guide/instructor, as well as riding learning to catch, feed, groom, clean out hooves and tack up. This is a three-day trail for a maximum of six riders. There are also guided trails of up to seven days, with a private trip option for groups of four or more. For ChildrenFamilies are welcome but there should be at least two adult riders in the group.
Pricesinclude all trail arrangements including feed, grooming kit, maps and route descriptions including waterproof route pack, saddle bags, first aid kit, panniers for carrying own luggage, and on guided routes guide and luggage delivery. For independent riders luggage delivery is an extra £8 per day per rider to a maximum of £24 per group. Hat hire is £5 per person per trail. |
