Specialist Reports Activity Holidays Adventure Holidays Footloose
Footloose is part of TrekAmerica, the outdoor adventure specialist for North America. Besides their walking, lodging and camping holidays, Footloose has a specially designed Family ‘Discovery' programme. What and WhereThe Family ‘Discovery' programme offers six family adventure holidays in Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada and the USA. Two of the holidays are camping-based and four are lodge-based tours. These trips take in cultural and natural attractions, touring in customised maxi vans. They focus on experiencing nature first-hand while visiting the National Parks, Native American lands and indigenous geological sites. The camping based tours include all cooking and camping equipment (except a sleeping bag) and the group helps prepare three meals a day. Activities may include hiking, biking, swimming and canoeing with groups of no more than 13 people. Examples of a camping-based tour include the twelve-day Western Discovery where you start in San Francisco and finish in Las Vegas or the eleven-day Canadian Discovery where you start and finish in Seattle. The lodge-based tours use tourist class accommodation chosen for its proximity to the highlights of the region as well as easy access to major sites. All lodging tours are inclusive of accommodation on a twin share basis but families of up to four members may share one room. Examples of lodge-based tours include the ten-day Cowboys & Indians Discovery which starts and finishes in Las Vegas or the ten-day Mayan Discovery which starts and finishes in Cancun.
