The association itself is not particularly helpful with individual bookings and will probably simply refer you to web sites.
Where
On the river Murray in South Australia. Once you have the brochure you can either contact the operator direct or the association for bookings.
Type of Vessels
Wider than those used in Europe, genuinely floating houseboats.
Equipment
Heating, fridge, outdoor furniture, radio cassette players, barbecue, two-way radio and more. Around half have a washing machine, most a microwave and TV and video plus CD player, most provide linen and generally there is air conditioning. A few also have a dishwasher.
Safety
Life vests and/or buoys are provided, plus a first aid kit on all vessels. The association does not appear to know if these are available for children.
Sample Price
For a week over the Christmas holidays A$1,400 for a vessel sleeping between two and six.
