The main base is an adventure holiday centre catering to schools during term-time and offering all-inclusive week activity holidays for parents and children over the Easter, Whitsun and summer holidays. Single parent families are welcome. Families share meal-times, and in the UK a day trip to Alton Towers and evening activities are included though in France there are options just to stay at the chateau while touring the area. Ages

3+ can participate in activities with a Nursery Adventure (in France known as Chateau Mini Club) for three to five years.

Activities

Archery, discos, pottery, computing, tag rugby and face painting are just some alternatives for children. Adults can choose cycling, walking, golfing, or multi-activity holidays featuring climbing, caving and survival skills. On site facilities in the UK include arts and crafts, and kite-flying for the youngest, and abseiling and assault courses for teenagers. In France family activity holidays offer a comparable range of non-competitive options - which family members can opt out of. In addition, lessons in conversational French are offered over-7s - often including visits to local markets and shops.

Childcare

From three plus all activities are supervised - generally from 9am to 5pm. Under that age babies and toddlers are welcome but parents must stay to take care of them.

Accommodation

In the UK Accommodation is in monitored dormitories for older children or for under 8s Woodland Village chalets with the family. In France it is three-star chateau hotel with a mixture of single, twin, double and family rooms.

Sample Price

Vary according to age and activities. In France a week on the family activity holiday in summer would cost £350 per child and £539 per adult, including all meals and return ferry crossing with car. In Shropshire on a fully inclusive family holiday over the summer adult prices are £359 per person, children on a kids adventure £279. Under threes stay free.
