Holidays by Destination Europe Greece Mainland 

Until recently the mainland, apart from key archaeological sites, was distinctly less attractive to visitors than the Greek islands. However, Greeks have increasingly been holidaying along the mainland coast and now so have a smaller number of overseas visitors, looking for areas which are less developed but as attractive as the more popular islands.

The numbers however are growing with larger mainland resorts now featured in most tour operator brochures and a growing number of smaller operators as well.
