Holidays by Destination Europe France Paris Accommodation

Parisian hotels seldom refuse children but are not really geared for them either. In addition prices are high, particularly in relation to the size of room. Space generally diminishes along with the cost, inconvenient for extra beds. Restaurants are rare in any but four-star hotels and even there may be closed in August.

Cheaper often means outside the centre, obviously less convenient, especially with children. 1st and 2nd arrondissements, though central, are a little dead at times, as can be the 7th, though attractive, and the 8th. More fun are the 4th (the Marais) 5th and 6th (Left Bank) and bordering 14th. Montmartre (18th) is fairly tatty, Bastille (11th) workaday, with its own charms.
Listings are organised by districts (indicated by the last digits of the post code) which spiral clockwise from 1 at the Louvre. Gradings are one to four-star.
